SI #9

Throughout the course of our life, we become more different than who we initially were. As we grow up, we may find ourselves cringing at who we were as children.  However, there is something beautiful in appreciating our childhood and who we were before the experiences that made us change. I drew a different self portrait - not one of me currently but one of me when I was five. I saturated the original image’s colors in order to reference the vibrant colors - conveying how bright the world looks to us as children. Then, I created texture with the oil pastels for the bubbles - infusing pops of color to saturate it further. Five year old me is entranced in these bubbles, symbolizing how children are amazed by the world and the experiences that lie ahead of them.
